The visit of the wise men to Jesus shows us that the powerful and religious are not the ones who generally understand God and worship Jesus. Herod the king is agitated and angry at the birth of Jesus because he feels his power threatened; the chief priests and scribes know Scriptural truth well, but do nothing with that knowledges. It’s only the pagan wise men, whom God led by the star, who bow their knee to Jesus.
